We finally managed to go see the sea. Although Marseilles is a port, don't think sticky, humid, hot. Think blue, chilly, windy, sunny, seagulls, sailboats and yachts. (However, I am pretty sure I'll think differently in summer.)
From where we are, we took a metro and a bus to the beach. Metros are all underground so we don't get to see the city. I much prefer the bus. There were so many people who had come out to enjoy the lovely weather this afternoon. On the sidewalks and on the concrete along the beach, people were riding cycles, walking, running; children were on roller skates, scooters, in prams and tri-cycles. There was space for everyone and everything. People were flying kites, surfing, playing football, fishing, reading. Mind you, there was also a lot of vehicular traffic on the road. How does all that exist in such harmony?
Can I have an order of all of the above with clean air on the side for when I am back home?

Lovely post, Gargee!! I just wish it were longer! Keep writing - it's a great way to remember your days in France. And to keep in touch with everyone. :)
